2022 – Present | Cologne, Germany - Manage and maintain topographic geodata within the TIM-NRW system to support geodetic workflows and ensure data quality. - Coordinate and process requests in compliance with topographic information management standards and legal requirements. - Produce detailed reports and documentation to track changes in the TIM-NRW system. - Support the implementation of new software solutions to improve data processing in geodata management.

Student Research Assistant — German Aerospace Center (DLR)

June 2021 – November 2021 | Bonn, Germany - Master's thesis within the Locust-Tec project: explored remote sensing applications to assess locust damage in Laikipia and Samburu counties, Kenya. - Performed satellite-based remote sensing analyses using Python libraries including NumPy, Rasterio, RasterFrames, and Xarray, as well as web APIs. - Applied supervised machine learning classification using Google Earth Engine. - Processed large remote sensing datasets with ArcPy and PyQGIS.

Project Intern — German Aerospace Center (DLR)

March 2021 – April 2021 | Bonn, Germany - Researched freely available geodata for West Africa and conducted literature review on valley bottom mapping methods. - Processed SRTM DTM 30m data and performed topographic analyses. - Calculated vegetation indices (NDVI, EVI, SAVI, MNDWI) in Google Earth Engine using MODIS and Sentinel-2 data. - Analysed vegetation index time series in relation to drought events in Burkina Faso.

GIS Specialist & Team Lead — Ramani Geosystems

September 2018 – January 2019 | Nairobi, Kenya - Created 2D vector datasets for the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project in Kenya, covering over 600 km from Mombasa to Naivasha. - Contributed to mapping and design for the Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) project — Africa's largest wind farm. - Conducted 3D mapping for flood protection projects on the Tana River (Kenya) and Mkondoa River (Tanzania). - Processed LiDAR data and Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) in ArcGIS, ENVI, and ERDAS Imagine. - Supervised and delegated tasks to a twelve-person team.

Geoinformatics Technician — Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS)

September 2015 – January 2019 | Nairobi, Kenya - Reviewed UN guidelines on land use/land cover mapping and food security analysis in Kenyan highland areas. - Conducted census operations across multiple African countries and evaluated population sampling methods. - Performed spatial extent measurements of the Mau Forest ecosystem complex. - Gained training in remote sensing image processing, classification, 3D mapping, DTM processing, and project management.

Intern — Ministry of Mining, Department of Resource Surveys & Remote Sensing (DRSRS)

January 2015 – March 2015 | Nairobi, Kenya - Analysed NDVI and NDWI indices for various rangeland areas in Kenya. - Conducted land cover mapping and analysis of the Mau Forest ecosystem complex. - Created attribute data and metadata for digitised features. - Produced data-driven PDF maps prepared for use in the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census.
